Driftwood 1992

Scope: Custom Home, Landscape Design
Location: Thorold, ON

Designed and built in 1990 to utilize the existing slope, this V-shaped bungalow has a panoramic view of the 10-acre property backing onto Shorthills Provincial Park. Extensive stone pathways wind throughout the property with inviting sitting areas, water features and a wrap-around deck.  The substantial landscape includes 2,000 tons of quarried stone.

This home includes an indoor and outdoor spa and a wine cellar.  The master bedroom with fireplace has a sloped paneled ceiling with an expansive row of clerestory windows and an ensuite with 5-piece bathroom and whirlpool.  The master bedroom and adjacent gym are both accessible to a private cedar deck.  A huge 390 sq. ft. ensuite walk-in closet has custom built-in cabinets and shelves.

The living room, kitchen and dining area are accessible to a second level deck that extends the living space both visually and functionally.  The dining room and kitchen were redesigned in 2012.  (See Driftwood Renovation)

In the lower level with walk-out to a patio is a huge entertainment centre in pub-like setting with a custom pool table, club seating in tartan and a fully equipped custom bar of solid walnut.
